With the concern for the welfare of our planet growing, a water bottle with filter is an excellent choice and chance to do your part.
Not only does it alleviate the enormous stress plastic bottles put on our landfills, it also helps the environment by keeping those used water bottles out of our oceans. These sports water bottles with filters are so convenient also for hiking, camping and sports. All it takes is just simple tap water to provide you with excellent clean and purified drinking water. Another helpful advantage of water bottles with filtered water is the growing concerns of the safety and quality of our tap water. Filters are a great way to turn questionable water into delicious drinking water. It’s also great because you can get a replacement filter for the bottled water, so your purchase is one that will last a long time.
The choices and systems are endless with many different filtration systems available on the market today. They are advertised for sale on Amazon and through individual companies known for filtration systems such as a Brita filtered water bottle. There are so many brands on the market; I’ll try to go through a few of them and their advantages and disadvantages.
The Brita 20 0unce Water Filter Bottle has many wonderful features that will not only make you feel environmentally friendly, but health conscious also! The Brita is NFA certified to reduce chlorine taste, odor and Class VI particulates. The Brita will replace 150 plastic water bottles making approximately 128 20 ounce servings or to be te3chnical 20 gallons of clean purified water with each filter. The Brita Water Filter Bottle comes with an easy carry finger loop and it is refreshing water for the on the go person. There are with any product some drawbacks such as you have to suck hard on the bottle to get the water out, and it can leave up to six to eight ounces of water no matter how hard you try to get the water out. The Brita can leak around the cap, but this can be fixed by removing the loop. But all in all the Brita Water Filter Bottle is a great choice for those on the go, looking to be environmentally friendly and require purified tap water.
The next water filter bottle product would be from the Berkey Water Filter Systems, called the Portable Water Filter Bottle. The Portable Water Filter Bottle features a bottle that is BPA-free with an incredible water filter that has an Ionic Absorption Micro Filtration System that will reduce pathogens, such as E-Coli, Giardi, toxic bacteria cysts, cysts, spores, detergents amongst other pathogens. In my search I have found no negative applications or reviews concerning this product.
The Katadyn MyBottle Purifier is an all-in-one personal water purifier system. The Katadyn MyBottle Purifier is the only EPA registered water bottle with a filter that removes all microorganisms. It removes debris, algae and sediment using the ViruStat® purification element that will remove bacteria, viruses and protozoa. The bottle can also be used without the filter when safe and clean water is available. The container is made from BPA-free polyethylene for your added comfort. With the layer of carbon, any distasteful flavors and harmful chemicals are removed. The container easily fits into most bicycle water bottle cages. The Katadyn MyBottle Purifier holds up to twenty four ounces and has a convenient flip-up mouthpiece and straw. The only disadvantage that has been noted concerning the Katadyn MyBottle Purifier is that it does take a little longer than desired to filter the water.
The last water bottle with filter that I will describe is the Pure Water 2 Go water bottle. There are three levels of filtration systems for the Pure water 2 Go with three different types of bottles to go along with them. The first is the Level One Filter that is used mainly to reduce chlorine in tap water. This filtration system is used with the Metro Bottle. The next would be the Level Two Filter which works in conjunction with the ECO bottle will accomplish the same as the Level One Filter, but will also remove heavy metals such as lead, mercury and arsenic. Both the Level One Filter and the Level Two Filter will treat up to 80 gallons of tap water, just about a three month normal use. The Level Three Filter System uses two filters. The first being the Level Two filter and a second filter that will remove any protozoa, cysts bacteria and cryptosporidium. The above filters are advertised to be used hundreds of times and are simple to replace. The bottles themselves are BPA free and biodegradable. The only disadvantage of the Pure Water 2 Go is that people enjoy the water so much that they wish that the container was larger.
So as you can see, there is a large market out there for water bottles with filters, from the sport bottle by Bobble to any of the above mentioned. Clean water is a must, and for those on the go, the assortment and the quality in a water bottle with filter is out there, and it is up to you to decide what price range fits your budget and needs.
